August 11, 2010
The 2010-11 season schedule has
been released. The thirty-game
schedule is loaded with
highlights, including fourteen
home games. The IceHogs are
particularly excited to kick off
the season against the
University of Kansas on
September 10, when they will
raise their first-ever SEC
Championship banner. Join us
again on the 11th when members
of the youth hockey league will
be on-hand and featured
throughout the game. Then, in
October, the Razorbacks are
proud to host the first ever
“Pink the Rink” night on October
1 when they take on the
University of Nebraska. The
event, in collaboration with the
Susan G. Komen for the Cure
Organization, will put each
IceHog player in a pink jersey,
each of which will be auctioned
off during the game with
proceedings benefitting Komen
Ozark. The Razorbacks will also
travel to Little Rock on
Thanksgiving weekend for a pair
of “home” games against the
University of North Texas — the
second of which will take place
immediately after Razorback
football takes on LSU. Likewise
noteworthy is the IceHogs return
to the American Airlines Center
in Dallas where they will
face-off against Texas A&M
following the Dallas Stars’
matinee game on January 15. Be
sure to check out the full
schedule for more details.
Note also that tryouts are
fast-approaching. All
prospective players will
participate in the three-day
tryout process, beginning on
August 20 with a full squad
scrimmage in the morning
(10-11:45am) and continuing with
off-ice testing in the
afternoon. On day two, August
21, all players will be placed
on mini-teams of approximately
7-9 players each. Games will be
condensed and will run in
round-robin format from
3:30-6:45 pm. The first round of
cuts will take place following
day two. On the final day,
remaining prospective players
will compete in an All-Star Game
from 12-1:15 pm. After final
cuts are made, be sure to check
back for the 2010-11 IceHog
roster. All tryout scrimmages
are free and open to the public.
